Dulari Kanya Yojana

Objective:
The Dulari Kanya Yojana, launched on August 15, 2016, by the Government of Arunachal Pradesh, aims to eliminate gender bias, promote institutional deliveries, ensure child immunization, prevent child marriages, and empower females across various aspects of life.

Myscheme

Key Benefits:

  • Financial Support: A fixed deposit of ₹20,000 is made in the name of every girl child born in government or government-recognized private hospitals.
  • Maturity Withdrawal: The maturity amount can be withdrawn by the beneficiary upon reaching 18 years of age, subject to verification by the concerned District Medical Officer (DMO).
  • Educational Incentive: Encourages the education and empowerment of the girl child by providing financial security for future endeavors.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • The girl child must be born in a government hospital or a government-recognized private hospital in Arunachal Pradesh.
  • The father or guardian should belong to a Scheduled Tribe of Arunachal Pradesh, be a domicile resident, or possess a household residential certificate.
  • The scheme is applicable for a maximum of the first two live girl children in a family.

Application Process:

  1. At Birth:
    • Obtain the prescribed application form from the concerned Medical Officer in charge or Medical Superintendent.
    • Submit the completed form along with required documents to the Medical Officer in charge or Medical Superintendent.
    • After verification, the documents will be forwarded to the concerned District Medical Officer (DMO).
  2. At Maturity (Age 18):
    • The beneficiary must submit a maturity claim application to the concerned DMO.
    • The application should include necessary documents, such as proof of age and educational qualifications.

Required Documents:

  • At Birth:
    • Copy of Delivery/Discharge Certificate from the hospital.
    • Copy of Mother and Child Protection (MCP) Card.
    • Birth Certificate issued by the Registrar of Births and Deaths.
    • Scheduled Tribe Certificate or Domicile Certificate of the father/guardian.
    • Two group photographs of the girl child with parents/guardians.
    • Aadhaar Card copies of parents/guardians and the child (if available).
  • At Maturity:
    • Copy of Class 10th Pass Certificate and Marksheet.
    • Self-declaration of being unmarried on her 18th birthday.
    • Copy of bank passbook opened in the name of the girl beneficiary in the State Bank of India.
    • Withdrawal form filled by the beneficiary.

Implementation and Monitoring: The scheme is implemented by the Directorate of Family Welfare, Department of Health & Family Welfare, Government of Arunachal Pradesh. Regular monitoring is conducted to ensure effective execution and to address any challenges faced during implementation.
