Itanagar Prepares for Grand Silver Jubilee Celebration of Indigenous Culture

The Indigenous Faith and Cultural Society of Arunachal Pradesh (IFCSAP) is gearing up to celebrate its silver jubilee, marking 25 years of relentless dedication to preserving and promoting the indigenous faith, art, and cultural heritage of Arunachal Pradesh. The milestone, which underscores the importance of cultural preservation amidst modern transformations, will be celebrated with a series of vibrant events beginning on December 1, culminating in a grand celebration from December 26 to 28.

In preparation for the jubilee, Chief Minister Pema Khandu recently met with Smt. Rinchen Lhamo, Hon’ble Member of the National Commission for Minorities (NCM), during her official tour of Arunachal Pradesh. The meeting focused on ways to promote welfare and development among minority communities within the state and address the obstacles they encounter in accessing government resources. The discussion highlighted strategies to amplify social and educational support systems for minority populations, aligning with the state’s commitment to fostering inclusive development.

Smt. Lhamo emphasized that equitable growth is critical for a harmonious society, expressing her support for the state’s ongoing efforts to uplift minority communities. She lauded Team Arunachal’s collaborative vision with the NCM, which aims to bridge gaps and enhance quality of life across diverse groups in the state.

The silver jubilee festivities will showcase Arunachal Pradesh’s rich and diverse cultural heritage through traditional performances, art exhibitions, and community gatherings. These events are expected to draw attention to the region’s unique cultural tapestry, emphasizing the significance of staying connected to ancestral roots and preserving indigenous practices for future generations.

Chief Minister Khandu expressed his commitment to improving the ease of living for all communities, emphasizing that initiatives like this celebration are vital in addressing Arunachal Pradesh’s unique social and economic challenges. He further highlighted the essential role of cultural organizations like IFCSAP in fostering unity and resilience within the state.
